Control it Dear follower, if you are dealing with negative thinking, the first thing you should know is that there are things you can control and things you cannot. Many of us suffer from anxiety and stress due to focusing on things beyond our ability to influence, but the simple truth is that these things that we have no control over are only a double source of the problems we face. Let's take a simple daily example. Imagine that you are on a stressful day at work and everything seems in chaos. You may find yourself feeling frustrated because you cannot change the way your colleagues behave or the decisions your manager makes. Negative thoughts begin to accumulate and you say to yourself, I cannot deal with this pressure anymore. Things will not improve.
But let me tell you something important. These thoughts are nothing but the result of trying to control something that is not in your hand. As Epictetus mentioned, do not bother yourself about things that you cannot change. This profound wisdom simply means that you have to put your energy into what is within your power only. In life, there are many things within our reach and things beyond our control if we only focus on the things we can control, such as responses. Our actions are the beginning of success. The ability to choose and even the way we look at situations, we hold the key to actual, effective change.
As for the things we cannot change, such as the actions of others or emergency circumstances, they are not worth consuming our time and effort. Marcus Aurelius in his meditations expresses this idea clearly when he says that you cannot control events, but you can control the reaction as a direction. In other words, real power comes from your ability to make the right decision at the right time and to turn every challenge into an opportunity for growth and development. Let's be realistic, my friend. You cannot control the weather or the movement of the wind, or the traffic or even the opinions of others about you, but what you can control is how you react to these circumstances. If you are in a traffic jam, for example, you may feel angry and tense, but if you focus on deep breathing or if you decide to set this moment aside for calm thinking, you may come out of this situation stronger and calmer with continuous training.
Remembering these instructions can do this, and more importantly, realize that you can change the way you see things. If you see problems as insurmountable challenges, you will feel helpless. However, if you start to see Every obstacle is an opportunity to improve your skills or learn something new, you will be on your way to success. You, dear reader, are the only one who has the ability to determine what deserves your attention, so when you find yourself surrounded by pressure, always remember: Is this within my ability to change? If the answer is no, let it pass you by without allowing you to surrender or feel the light. Practicing gratitude, dear follower, there is something very important that you should know. Gratitude is not just a passing feeling or a habit that we resort to only in happy moments, but rather it is a tremendous force that has the ability to radically change the way we think and live.
Gratitude is one of the keys that can open the doors of inner peace and help you transform your life from a state of constant stress to a state of deep inner satisfaction, gratitude and psychological comfort is the goal of every human being.
